(Silent Valley x Panache) This pure white flower possesses a perfect double triangle perianth, that is smooth and overlapping. The large trumpet is narrow at the base, and has a large, rolled and flared rim. A sister seedling to “Rio Blanco”. It has the form and brightness of colour, to do well at shows.

(Verran x Algarve) Quality division 1 W.Ps are rare, and Chanson is up there with the best. The smooth, round petals are pure white, and form a neat double triangle. The long flared trumpet is a deep apple blossom pink, with a paler pink frilled rim. An outstanding show bloom.

(Ivory Glow x Dailmanach) It has a smooth, white, double triangle perianth that is well overlapped. Its vase shaped corona, is coloured a nice shade of soft pink. It flowers late in the season, about the same time as its parent “Dailmanach”. A clear cut fl ower, that is useful for late shows.

(Trumpet Warrior x Lemon Snow) Named after the song sung by the group ” Boney M”. It flowers in the early part of the season. A good sized flower, it has a smooth lemon yellow perianth, with a white halo at the centre. It opens pure lemon yellow, but at maturity its trumpet turns white
with a lemon yellow rim. “El Lute’ “ was placed first in the open single bloom class at the Christchurch South Island Show 2011, when it was under number. Definite show potential.

( Valley Glow x Goldfinger ) On its first outing at the South Island National Show at Christchurch 2011, Fleeting Moment was judged 1st in the open seedling class for 2 YO-R blooms. Its smooth yellow rounded petals are
complimented by a 1/3 length yellow cup, with a touch of orange red on its ribbed rim. Altogether a strong growing and consistant bloom of show quality.

(Valley Glow x Goldfinger) I was once told to never use Goldfinger as a breeder, as it was too small. “Hey You” proves this theory wrong. On a good year, it will grow to 150 mm, and still retain reasonable form. The pale yellow petals form a neat double triangle and has a slight reflex.
Its 2/3 length flared cup is yellow through 1/2 of its length, moving to a orange red rim. Not a show flower, but a talking point in the garden, and is proving useful as a breeder.

(Pearl Drift x Sdlg) This flower is one of the first to appear in our patch in the spring. Its very white double triangle petals form a backdrop for its very ruffled centre, which has lemon, yellow and primrose tones, that fades out to white as the flower matures. Only a garden flower, but a nice splash of colour after a long cold winter.

(Grand Monarque x Sdlg 93T4) For many years now, Wilf has sent us some of his Tazetta’s to trial in a cold climate. Because they are so early, the foliage suffers from severe frosts, but the blooms are glorious. Lemon and Barley petals are light lemon in colour, with the cup being a bright green yellow. Can have up to 20 florets per stem. Useful for show or garden.

(Dailmanach x Presidential Pink) A large flower growing up to 120mm in diameter. A very bright colourful show flower. The double triangle shaped perianth is pure white and overlapping. The nice background to the neat vase shaped corona, which is deep pink at the base, shading to
a deep red pink outer band. “Melstar” has been shown with success in the raisers class at the South Island shows.

(Purbeck x Kimmeridge) Not a large flower, reaching the size of 95mm in diameter. “Ringwood” has a smooth glistening white perianth. The neat cup shaped corona, opens with a pale yellow centre, but at maturity is white with a bright orange well defined rim. A bright, neat, showy little flower that is well worth entering in any flower show.

(Blossom x Virma) This very full double, is one of our favourites. The outer petals are white, smooth and neatly layered. The inner petaloids are a light greenish colour at the base, moving through to a strong yellow. As with many bi-colours, the contrast between white and yellow is startling.
A useful show flower and lovely in the garden.

(Peach Glow x Seedling) “Wildberry” is not a show flower, but it is certainly a novelty. A good sized flower, it has a pale lemon perianth and split corona, that has a lemon yellow base, pink centre and a lemon yellow edge. A mixture of colours that some will love and some not so much. Very different.
